DUDLEY Council tenants are being urged to sign up for a free text service to help keep them in touch with what is happening in their area.
Once registered for the service, the council will automatically send information about upcoming local tenant and resident association meetings and events, housing services and useful council information.
Councillor Gaye Partridge, cabinet member for housing said: “As a community council we pride ourselves on engaging with local residents and we want to ensure all of the tenants and residents living on our estates become actively involved in the running of our borough.
“We want to embrace these convenient communication channels in our effort to communicate to and involve residents wherever possible.”
There are currently 27 tenant and resident associations operating in the borough whose members are actively helping to run their estates.
Groups discuss many issues relating to their estates and develop ideas of how they can help to make improvements to enrich resident’s lives and make the communities in which they serve better places to live in.
To sign-up to the new service, visit www.dudley.gov.uk/housingalerts or call 01384 815168. Residents can also sign up to the community council e-bulletin by visiting community.council@dudley.gov.uk
