BLACK Country band WEAK13 have celebrated the release of their 13th music video in cinematic style.

A prequel to their previous music video Joke, the Go Away video follows the fictitious TV talk show host William Nobody, played by WEAK13 bass player Wesley Smith, as he investigates a satanic food company.

Filmed in Wolverhampton by the team at Fifty Seven Studio, it takes a satirical look at the food industry and pokes fun at the mascot of a famous American fast food chain.

Wesley, from Stourbridge, said: "Our videos are more movie-like these days mainly due to working with movie makers; after the success we had with Joke we thought the fans deserved the same high standards."

The colourful video which comes nearly two years after the release of the single, also sees WEAK13 singer and guitarist Nick J Townsend starring as Royston McPoison - the brother of fictional character Presley Dent (played by Nick in the band's previous music video).

Fresh from his second trip to LA to promote the band, distinctive frontman Nick said: "After my first visit to Hollywood I was very inspired to return there with a follow up music video that they'd find amusing.

"The Joke video we released last year was well received and we wanted to continue the trend."

The Go Away video also features guest appearances by Bollywood actor Arun Kapur, professional dancer Halley Fisher, musicians from the band Naked Sunday, Birmingham hip hop rapper Fonzi Neutron, members of Hereford and Worcester rock band Aeonian Dog, Birmingham heavy metal band Valous and Dudley alternative rock band Damsons In Distress.

WEAK13, who are currently busy still working on their first album, plan to continue the storyline and adventures of the characters featured in the Joke and Go Away videos and are already working on the next instalment.

Nick, who has been plugging the band on radio stations in California, said: "We've now got a very good reputation for producing unusual music videos and we are fortunate to work alongside some great film-makers.

"I've always been interested in cinema, now I'm directing music videos for other bands and artists."
