A HALESOWEN steak thief stole ten steaks from Lidl, Dudley Magistrates Court has heard.

Matthew Smith, aged 30, of Shenstone Valley Road, Halesowen, pleaded guilty to stealing ten packs of steak from Lidl and also admitted failing to surrender to custody at a hearing at Dudley Magistrates Court.

He was fined £260 and ordered to pay a £32 surcharge and £135 costs.

The following cases were also heard at Dudley Magistrates Court this week.

Sean Green, aged 29, of Edinburgh Road, Netherton, pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis. He was fined £133 and was ordered to pay a £32 surcharge and £185 costs.

Corey Spruce, aged 25, of Northfield Road, Netherton, pleaded guilty to driving on Stourbridge Road without a driving licence and he also admitted driving without insurance. He received an eight week prison sentence suspended for 12 months due to offending while on a community order for a similar offence. He was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 12 months and was ordered to pay a £122 surcharge.

Anthony Cole, aged 34, of Witley Avenue, Halesowen, was found guilty of assault by beating. He received a restraining order and a community order and must carry out a 80 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay compensation, a surcharge and costs totalling £760.

Kayleigh Weaver, aged 27, of High Street, Amblecote, pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer. She received a community order and was ordered to pay compensation, a surcharge and costs totalling £375.

Liam Slevin, aged 33, of St James Road, Dudley, pleaded guilty to driving over the legal alcohol limit. He was fined £750 and ordered to pay a £75 surcharge and £135 costs. He was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 20 months.
