A CAREERS event will be held in Oldbury next week showcasing the wide range of jobs and apprenticeships available in Sandwell.
The event, at Sandwell Council House, in Freeth Street, on Tuesday (February 4) marks National Apprenticeship Week (Monday 3 to Friday 7 February) and will have a special focus on apprenticeships.
Attendees will be able to meet apprentices and find out what support is available to help them get a job or apprenticeship.
Councillor Danny Millard, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for skills and employment said: "Apprenticeships are a fantastic way of getting into a new career.
"Some people think apprenticeships are only for young people.
"In fact, apprenticeships are open to anyone, from any age group and background.
"I want as many people as possible to attend the event, so sign up now at www.sandwell.gov.uk/employmentevents.”
Sandwell Council employs apprentices of all ages and in wide range of careers, who are studying towards a wide range of qualifications including business administration, hospitality, activity instructor, horticulture and many more.
