A CAR crashed into a wall in front a house in Coseley before going up in flames.

Fire crews were called to reports of a car crashing into a wall on Bond Street just after 5am this morning (June 28).

Three crews, from Dudley, Bilston and Tipton fire stations, raced to the scene, arriving within five minutes of the report.

Police said the 56-year-old driver was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The wall was reduced to rubble and the front of the car extensively damaged, photos from the scene show.

Dudley Fire Station tweeted: "Road traffic collision 999 recieved by @SWMFireControl to car in to house and on fire “persons reported” Bond Street, Coseley; our highest level of response @WMFSDudley @BilstonFire @tiptonfire all mobilised and on scene within 5 minutes. Precautionary checks for one male driver."

A spokesperson from West Midlands Police said: "We were called to reports of a car hitting a wall on Bond Street in Coseley at around 5.10am this morning (28 June).

"The 56-year-old driver was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
