A MAN has been arrested after a suspected stolen car crashed on a major road in Dudley.
A car, believed to be stolen, hit a road sign and crashed into another vehicle on the Birmingham New Road on Thursday afternoon (July 9).
Police arrested a 21-year-old man nearby after he fled the scene, on suspicion of vehicle theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop.
No one was injured in the crash, which caused tailbacks for drivers on nearby Tipton Road.
The man has since been released with no charge.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: "A man has been arrested after failing to stop for officers on Birmingham New Road at 3pm yesterday (9 July).
"The suspected stolen car hit a road sign and collided with another car before the driver ran from the scene. Fortunately no one was seriously injured.
"The 21-year-old was arrested nearby on suspicion of vehicle theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop. He has been released with no charge."
