A former dairy farm on the edge of the busy Shropshire border market town of Cleobury Mortimer sold for £250,000 at auction last week.

Redthorne Dairy Farm had a guide price of £100,000 to £150,000 at auctioneers Halls’ public auction, held at Gainsborough House Hotel, Bewdley Hill, Kidderminster.

Located off Lion Lane and Bayton Lane, the farm comprised just over 26 acres of fertile and productive pastureland with a range of former dairy buildings and a barn. The property attracted enthusiastic bidding before selling to a local farmer.

Redthorne Cottage, a three bedroomed property in need of renovation and restoration, failed to find a buyer on the night. However, Halls have received offers since the auction and have agreed the sale by private treaty.

The auction was conducted by Roger Sadler, of Halls’ Kidderminster office, who said he was delighted with the excellent price achieved for Redthorne Dairy Farm and the interest generated in both properties.
