Goldman Sachs is reported to be advising clients to buy sterling as fears that a hung Parliament will damage the currency are "overblown".
Goldman analysts believe foreign-exchange markets are already "comfortable" with a UK coalition government as all parties agree the nation's deficit must be cut, the Daily Telegraph reports.
It recommends buying the pound against the euro in the expectation it will strengthen to 83p - its strongest since November 2008.
