LAST summer our current MP (and former investment banker) persuaded the council to ignore health laws and allow three nightclubs and “party venues” to open until 6am through three nights a week.

This resulted in earth-shaking noise from 11.30pm all night for hundreds of families in and around the town centre, including many with young children.

The political claim was “more jobs created” (mostly for people from outside the area), and all at the expense of sleepless constituents with no voice because of the local rules change without their prior knowledge or permission.

Prepare for sleepless weekends again starting as soon as warm weather arrives.

Business versus people as ever – thanks to desperate politicians.

Beware what you wish for.
