A PAIR of Stourbridge school girls made a meal of their chance for a taste of dream careers.
Shannon Ward, aged 13, from Woodfield Avenue and Olivia Parry, also 13, from Rufford Road, met while they were both in-paitents at Russells Hall Hospital and soon discovered they were both keen to become chefs.
Steve Ford from the Wishing Well charity at the hospital arranged for the girls to spend a day at the Harvester restaurant in Hayley Green, Halesowen, where chef Matthew Turner helped them prepare meals from the menu.
Shannon, who goes to Pedmore Technology College, said: "It is really good to be a chef for a day, it is brilliant and a great opportunity, I learned about what it is like to be a chef.
"Thank you for making my wish come true."
Hagley RC pupil Olivia said: "It seems like hard work but I want people to enjoy their food, we learned a lot about different things and how to cook."
