RUNNERS are invited to take part in national parkrun weekly sessions at the Dell Stadium.

A free 5K run will be held every Saturday, starting at 9am, with the first run of this year taking place on Saturday April 21.

The event starts and finishes at the Dell Stadium, Bryce Road, Pensnett, and is part of the national parkrun social movement, which sees weekly-organised events taking place in parks and green spaces across the world.

It is hoped the run, which started at The Dell last year, will help people who want to become more physically active outdoors while also attracting those who already run and want to do more.

There is no need to pre-book. New runners are asked to arrive by 8.45am.

Alan Lunt, strategic director at Dudley Council, said: “Dudley Council is committed to helping borough residents be active in the great outdoors and it’s great to see the weekly parkrun starting back up after the winter break.

“I would encourage anyone who’s interested in taking on more physical activity to come along and join in with these sessions.”

Participants of all ages and fitness levels are welcome. Children taking part must be aged four or over. No buggies or dogs are allowed and refreshments are offered after the run.
