ENVILLE Street Dramatic Society is staging modern comedy classic Ladies Day this week.

The show, written by Amanda Whittington and set in 2005, is running at Amblecote Holy Trinity Church Hall from Wednesday April 5 to Saturday April 8.

Amateur actresses Sandra Harrold, Gaynor Whitehouse, Carey Esthop and Jo Foley star as fish filleting foursome Shelley, Linda, Pearl and Jan whose lives are one hard slog until Linda finds tickets to Ladies Day at Royal Ascot when it relocates to York.

Out go the hair nets, overalls and wellies as the four ditch work, do themselves up to the nines and head off for a drink, a flirt and a flutter in the hope of hitting the jackpot.

Tickets for the show are available on 01384 376342/ 07941 906069 or online from www.envillestreetdramatic.org.uk
