The club has been busy with a poetry luncheon held at the home of Lennie Harford when they continued with their current theme by reading poems about the environment.

Lennie cooked a range of dishes including dishes from around the world and members bought along deserts. Also following the monthly dinner meeting, members where entertained by speaker Andrew Pardoe, a volunteer with the National Trust. Andrew spoke about the work that he and other volunteers do on Kinver edge.

Members heard how so much is done for the environment by so few volunteers and how Andrew personally had learnt many new skills with his voluntary work and asked members to consider joining in this worthwhile work. Andrew was presented with a small donation to support the National Trusts’ work. The group would welcome anyone to come along to the meetings held at Hagley Golf & Country Club, Wassell Grove, Hagley, DY9 9JW. We meet on the first and third Wednesday of the month @ 7.30pm or contact the secretary on 01384 397565 or emailing Jane Flint Bridgewater on ejfb51@gmail.com.
