COMIC and juggler Steve Royle, who appeared in cult sitcom Phoenix Nights, is headlining an award-winning comedy club in Stourbridge on Friday night (June 9).

Steve, who was also part of Peter Kay’s smash hit Phoenix Nights Live, which last year raised around £5 million for charity will be the star billing at Fitz of Laughter Comedy Club in the marquee at Katie Fitzgerald’s.

Support on the night will be provided by fast-rising Black Country comics Darren Harriott and Mike Crump, and Glee Club regular Tom Taylor.

Promoter Wayne Beese, who also hosts the show, said: “Steve Royle has been one of the top comics on the circuit for a long time now and we are delighted he is coming to Katie’s.

“He is a very funny and unique act.

“With three top acts supporting him, we only have a few tickets left and we would urge people to get in quickly. This is not to be missed.”

Darren, originally from Oldbury, moved to London a couple of years ago and is tipped for big things after being snapped up by a leading comedy agency which also manages the likes of Micky Flanagan and Britain’s Got Talent star Daliso Chaponda.

While Mike, from Dudley, starred in Danny and The Human Zoo, a BBC drama chronicling the early life of Lenny Henry.

The club has played host to a number of top national acts, including Gary Delaney, Zoe Lyons, Nathan Caton, Patrick Monahan, Tom Binns, Charlie Baker, Rob Deering and Tom Stade.

Tickets for Friday night’s show – which sees doors open at 8pm before an 8.30pm start – cost £10, and are available, with no booking fee, online at www.skiddle.com/e/12945044, or by calling Wayne on 07759543750.
