CHILDREN were seen running away from a phone box after a hoax call was made to the police about a stabbing.
Police warned the public that it is an offence to make a malicious or hoax call to the emergency services.
The call was made on Saturday afternoon from a phone box near the junction of Hoarwithy Road with Winston Road in Saxon Gate, Hereford.
Police said: "If an emergency service is busy attending a hoax call, they could be prevented from attending a genuine call. This can cost lives and is a waste of valuable resources."
