IT has been fantastic to hear the stories of people's positive experiences of Worcestershire Royal Hospital, such as the way dedicated staff saved baby Jamie Nicholson from a potentially fatal illness.

His parents, Olivia Yapp and Dale Nicholson, have praised the efforts of the hospital's doctors, nurses and other staff – and rightly so.

They went above and beyond to ensure that baby Jamie was able to overcome his illness.

People are quick to complain about the NHS when standards are not up to their expectations, but rarely contact the media to praise a hospital when they've had excellent care.

That's why we appealed for people to come forward with positive stories about the Royal, so we could highlight the hospital's many successes.

Despite the problems at the city's hospital with waiting times and a shortage of beds, nobody doubts that the staff are incredibly dedicated and talented and perform heroically during extremely challenging circumstances.
