Tardebigge music festival Biggefest raises more than £8,000 for Macmillan

MORE than £8,000 has been raised for charity thanks to a music festival in Tardebigge.

Nothing was going to deter Sandra and Clive Fokes of Courtyard Music from organising yet another successful Biggefest.

Not even the closure of the festival venue just a few weeks before, stopped them from smashing last year's fundraiser.

Around 1,000 people recently descended on the New Tardebigge Pub where a host of bands and artists took to the stage to perform live throughout the day, raising a fantastic £8,806 for Macmillan.

Worcestershire fundraising manager Sarah Diston said: "I’m over the moon for both Sandra and Clive because they work so hard to make sure Biggefest is the success that it is. Biggefest has now raised a grand total of £16,329 which is just amazing.

"A huge Macmillan thank you has to go to Sandra, Clive and all their friends and musicians for their continued support. I’d also like to thank everyone who supported Biggefest, we rely on donations and once again Biggefest lived up to its name."

Clive thanked a number of people and said it will be a huge target to beat next year.

"A massive thanks goes out to all who helped before, on the day and after including all the bands, artists, and sound engineers who performed throughout the day making it all possible."

The money will go toward a Macmillan Immunotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist.

The county’s first immunotherapy clinical nurse specialist, they provide support and advice to any patients receiving immunotherapy treatment.
