FLOWERS are bringing a splash of colour to the centre of Ludlow during the dark days of winter.
Primroses have been planted in the Market Street car park.
They have been planted by the team behind the Ludlow in Bloom success story that has brought a succession of gold medals to the town.
But the primroses will flower during the winter and so will not be part of the 2019 campaign for the Heart of England in Bloom competition. The organisers say that this shows that the group is not only interested in winning awards.
“We have done this because winter can be dull and miserable to many people, but flowers can still bring colour and joy during the dark months,” said Vivienne Parry, who leads the Ludlow in Bloom Group.
Primroses are hardy against frost and provide a burst of colour.
