THE Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (GOCC) is the biggest, non-governmental, non-profit, charity organisation in Poland.

The GOCC aims to support health care in Poland by purchasing state of the art medical equipment for Polish hospitals and clinics and by establishing and running a number of medical programmes and an educational programme in the country.

Three years ago Redditch resident Monika Sedlak, together with friends Kamila Poczatek and Frankie Prazer, rallied the polish community in the town, deciding to start a community group to do what they could to help.

They created WOSP Collection Point in Redditch.

Since then they have organised a number of charity events which has not only helped raise money for the charity but brought the local community (Polish and non-Polish) together.

This Saturday, December 15 they are inviting members of the public to join them for a pool tournament at Millsborough House.

Entry is £5 and it is from 4pm until late.

A spokesman from WOSP said: "We already have players from the Redditch pool league coming, however we want to see who has a secret talent to win the first WOSP Redditch pool trophy. Families of all ages are welcome and male and females too.

"We will also be having entertainment during the afternoon/evening to keep everyone pumped."

On January 11 WOSP Redditch will be having a Polish DJ night at Fever- Cirque in the town centre which will see DJs from around the midlands spinning the decks.

Entry fee is £3.
