AN appeal for witnesses has been launched after a car ended up on its roof on the M5 at Bromsgrove, leaving a man seriously injured.

The single car collision happened between junctions five and six of the M5 northbound on Saturday April 20.

Police were called just before midnight to reports that a blue Series 1 BMW with a registration ending XXJ had ended up on its roof on the carriageway.

A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, police say.

PC Thomas Leach from West Mercia Police said: "It is unclear how this vehicle came to be on its roof but enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to this incident which has left the driver of this vehicle with serious injuries and in a critical condition.

"We are therefore keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any dash-cam footage of it, or who may have seen the blue BMW being driven prior to the incident."

Anyone with any information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 914s of 23 April 2019.

Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
