A CHOIR will support the conservation work being undertaken by Herefordshire Wildlife Trust when they perform at Leominster's Lion Ballroom next month.

The Britten Singers, founded in 1975, will donate all the money from ticket sales to the charity at their concert on Friday, June 7.

The local choral group said they are still going strong with regular concerts across the county and have continually raised money for charities over the past four decades.

The concert by the chamber choir will feature a diverse programme including traditional folk songs, classical pieces by Elgar and Finzi and musical numbers by Gershwin and Rodgers and Hammerstein. Many of the pieces give a nod to the concert's beneficiary, Herefordshire Wildlife Trust with pieces such as Frank Bridge's The Bee and The Ballad of Green Broom arranged by Benjamin Britten.

Tickets are available through Herefordshire Wildlife Trust's website
