A GENEROUS donation has been to Barnardo's by The Cotswold School Interact Club.

The members of Rotary International’s service club, for young people aged between the ages of 12 and 18-year-old, managed to raise more than £500 for the charity that cares for vulnerable children.

The money was raised through through various projects such as cake stalls at parents' events, tombola stalls at the Upper Rissington Easter Egg Hunt and the Cotswold Festival of Motoring, and the raffle of a Barnardo's hamper.

A cheque has now been presented by the president of the club, Felicity Whitehead, to Kirsty Liversidge, local branch manager of Barnardo's.

On behalf of North Cotswolds Rotary and Rotary in the Rissingtons, Andrew Mitchell thanked them all for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout the year.

Mr Mitchell said: “They are a great group and we very much enjoy working with them and value their help and support on Rotary projects."

Interact members will be supporting forthcoming Rotary events in Bourton-on-the-Water, such as the Greystones 'Swan Lake' 10k Run on Sunday, July 14, and the Cotswold Festival of Motoring on Sunday, August 4.
