LUDLOW’S iconic Feathers Hotel is inviting people from the town to come and view progress so far in the re-opening of the 400 year-old building.

They will also be able to see the plans for the future and discuss any issues with the management.

The much-anticipated re-opening of the Feathers Hotel in Ludlow is drawing one step closer and the senior management team are inviting the local community to join them where they will share further details and plans for the iconic building.

The open evening will take place on Thursday, July 18 18 from 5pm – 8pm in the brand new tea room and the designs and vision for the hotel will be on display as well as the team from new owners, Crest Hotels, who will be on hand to share the transformation plans.

Complimentary refreshments and canapes will be served, and guests will get the opportunity to see first-hand what the second phase of the refurbishment that is now in excess of £1.5m will look like.

“With such a listed building, we have been really keen to ensure we adhere to regulations and ensure the refurbishment is sensitively done to capture the history and heritage that the Feathers Hotel stands for,” said Jason Hiley, Group Operations Director for Crest Hotels.

“Thanks to our team of superb contractors, 7Formation, we are confident we have done this, and we will be able to share more specific re-opening times in due course as we once again open the doors to this landmark hotel.

“This is the building’s 400th anniversary year and we can’t wait to hold the evening to share our passion and vision with the local community of Ludlow and Shropshire to see first-hand. We look forward to welcoming everyone and to ensure we cater accordingly would ask to email your RSVP to sales@feathersatludlow.co.uk.”

Crest Hotels completed the purchase of The Feathers in December 2018. The firm is now investing more than £1.5million to re-position the 40-bedroom property, which includes an aesthetic makeover to public areas, rooms and the function suite, as well as new plumbing throughout.

Ludlow Town Mayor Timm Gill, Shropshire councillor Andy Boddington and Ludlow MP Philip Dunne have all said that the hotel is an important part of the town’s economy and helps to bring people into Ludlow.

It was sold after problems with the plumbing led to the hotel having to be closed.
