Heathbrook House Bupa Care Home on Worcester Road is supporting the scheme - a national day of free fun and activities for older people across the UK - by holding a quiz afternoon with a traditional Sunday roast for older members of the local community, along with their family and friends.

The quiz afternoon with a traditional Sunday roast will take place this Sunday (October 6) from 11.30am to 3.30pm.

It will include a fun quiz and a delicious homemade roast, offering three roast meats, followed by a selection of traditional puddings. sherry and a variety of hot and cold drinks will also be served.

Silver Sunday aims to tackle the loneliness and isolation felt by many older people by providing social activities to encourage them to get out, try new things and meet new people.

It also celebrates the value and knowledge that they bring to our communities.

"It’s great that we are in a position to support Silver Sunday by holding events at our care homes across the country, to offer older members of our community somewhere they can enjoy a fun activity in the company of others.

"I know our residents are looking forward to welcoming some new faces on the day.”
