MADAM - Worcestershire Wildlife Trust has two waterways running through their two sites at Upton Warren - the Salwarpe and Hen brook.
Each one carries floating rubbish eg. plastic bottles etc.
Why aren't they doing "their bit" by capturing this rubbish before it enters the Severn and then into the sea?
A fallen tree across the Salwarpe at Upton Warren stopped a great deal of rubbish, which I fished out on a regular basis.
Unfortunately this got swept away in a recent downpour therefore halting my efforts to take away the rubbish.
A floating boom would in theory do the same job, so why aren't the WWT placing a simple floating barrier to capture this rubbish before it enters the sea?
Not rocket science, simple and effective.
