MUSIC revellers have helped to raise more than £120,000 for charity during the 19 year history of a Herefordshire festival.

Linton Festival, held annually over three days in July near Ross-on-Wye, has donated proceeds to several local charities including Hope Support Services.

The youth led service offers support to anybody aged 11-25 support when a close family member is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

"This year our nominated local charities benefited from a whopping £16,000 in sponsorship and donations raised by the festival," festival chairman David Lambert said.

"Of course, we couldn't do it without the generous support of our local business sponsors who help to cover part of our overheads and advertise in our festival programme."

Linton Festival is a music, real ale and cider festival held in the grounds of The Alma Inn, near Ross-on-Wye.
