A THIEF with a record of violence has been slammed behind bars for a crime spree in Redditch

Dylan Kirk, who uses the alias Drastic, was jailed for 12 weeks for a series of thefts from Sainsbury's in the town.

The 23-year-old, of no fixed abode, admitted taking items electronic goods and alcohol from the store on four separate occasions.

Kirk also pleaded guilty to assault and was jailed for a further 12 weeks and Worcestershire magistrates also ordered him to pay £250 compensation to his victim.

Also before Worcestershire magistrates:

Claire Kopusto, aged 36, from Church Street, Alcester, pleaded guilty to eight charges of stealing chocolate and one count of stealing air freshener refills from Morrisons in Redditch.

She was given a community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement and ordered to pay £321 compensation, £185 costs plus a victim surcharge of £90.

Luke Bush, aged 34, from Walton Close, Winyates, was given six penalty points, fined £133 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £30 after he pleaded guilty to driving without appropriate insurance.

Daniel Blair, aged 31, of Wharrad Close, Redditch, was given a community order to carry out rehabilitation activity, fined £400 and ordered to pay £620 costs, compensation of £100 and a victim surcharge of £85.

Blair admitted two counts of assault and was found guilty of a third charge of assault which he had denied.

Kevin Cox, aged 54, of Priors Oak, Redditch, was as given a community order to carry out rehabilitation activity, ordered to pay £250 compensation, £180 costs and a £90 victim surcharge after he admitted assault.

Emil Rembiejewski, aged 30, of Astley Close, Redditch was banned from driving for 12 months, fined a total of £1,980 and ordered to pay £85 costs plus a £66 victim surcharge.

He was found guilty on three charges of failing to provide police with the identity of a driver of a vehicle involved in an alleged motoring offence.
