READERS have been paying their tributes after a young man sadly died after falling down stairs at a Worcester bar.

James Acheson-Hill was killed by the accidental fall at Heroes in Friar Street shortly after 10pm on Saturday, January 18.

The 27-year-old dad, from Worcester, was taken to hospital but died the following day, Sunday January 19.

On Facebook, Kim Recchia wrote: "Rest in peace James. Will never forget you! Life is so cruel."

Sophie Griffiths said: "James was such a lovely guy, so sad to hear about this. Thinking of all the family."

Jamie Colburn said Mr Acheson-Hill was a "great friend" saying: "Great friend! Cannot believe it, taken way to early! RIP mate."

April Downes said: "So so sad, shared some good memories - -I won’t forget when we was young, absolutely devastating."

Wendy Phelps wrote: "Just can’t take this in. So incredibly sad, he was my son’s best friend at primary school.

"Our thoughts are with his family, Rest in Peace James x"

Emergency services were called at around 10.20pm on January 18 and police launched an investigation, but police say they are not treating his death as suspicious.

The 27 year-old father worked at Mazak, and his family said he was "much-loved".

A statement from his family said: "James was a devoted father to his son Eddie, a much loved brother to Niamh and a beloved son to us both.

"He loved his work as a senior applications engineer at Mazak in Worcester where his colleagues have described him as a ‘rising star."

On Facebook, Diana Stanley said: "Condolences to family and friends. What a tragic accident. R.I.P."

Jack Morgan wrote: "Condolences with his family. It's such a shame - was a great lad, RIP."
