PERRYFIELDS Primary PRU won Primary School of the Year at the 2019 Worcestershire Education Awards.

Rob Harrison, deputy head teacher said: “Perryfields Primary PRU were extremely proud to be even nominated in the category of Primary School of the Year, but, to be crowned the eventual winners at the amazing black tie awards evening in June, capped a fantastic year for the school."

Mr Harrison added: “In 2019, we achieved our 4th successive ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED judgement, along with being identified as a Inclusion Quality Mark Centre Of Excellence and expanding our site in St Johns, Worcester.

"But, a local award, judged by local people who really understand what is happening in Worcestershire was the icing on the cake.

"It was a welcome recognition of all the hard work, dedication and effort that all the pupils, parents, governors and staff have committed in ensuring that Perryfields provides the best possible education for all the stakeholders involved.

"Since the award, we have had welcomed visitors from across the country who wish to visit an award winning PRU and continued to support children and families across South Worcestershire. As a school, we have not stood still and are always striving to improve our environment, teaching and learning and outreach work even further."

He added: "Perryfields is rigorous, relentless and robust in ensuring that the education we provide for our vulnerable young people both on and off-site is to the highest possible standards. We would like to thank the voting committee for selecting us and wish all the 2020 nominations the very best of luck!"
