A MAN has been given a suspended jail sentence for attempting to go through the drive-thru Mcdonald's in Oakenshaw while drunk - at 6am in the morning.
Benjamin Saunders, 36, from Crooks Lane in Alcester, appeared in court last week.
On February 17 this year he turned up at McDonald's in Clews Road in Redditch after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his breath, namely 58 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeded the prescribed limit.
Police were alerted and they also found out he was disqualified from holding a driving licence, and did not have appropriate cover to drive the car.
Saunders, who pleaded guilty, was committed to prison for eight weeks suspended for 18 months, and made to pay victim services of £122, and costs of £135.
He was also told he could not drive for 40 months.
