A SCHOOL in Malvern is helping support NHS staff fighting coronavirus.
Malvern St James has responded to the government's appeal for support by offering its Benhams boarding house as accommodation to health service staff.
Malvern St James's Benhams boarding house has 39 beds in total which the School is offering as alternate accommodation for NHS staff during these unprecedented times.
The school has already had an enquiry from Herefordshire NHS regarding some volunteer medical students, and Worcestershire Royal Hospital is to discuss the offer with Malvern St James in more detail.
Comprising mostly single bedrooms, the boarding house also has communal living areas and kitchens.
In recognition of the importance of cleaning uniforms and clothing at the end of shifts, Malvern St James will purchase additional washing machines for NHS staff to use during their stay.
