A Celebration of Barbra Streisand is coming to The Swan Theatre in Worcester, this May.

A spokesman said: "The iconic sound of a legend of music and film is brought to life in this brand new production touring theatres across the country.

"Barbra Streisand is one of the most prolific and respected figures in the entertainment industry. An actress, singer, writer, director, producer, composer, designer, author, photographer and activist, Streisand is the only artist ever to receive Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Grammy, Directors Guild of America, Golden Globe, National Medal of Arts and Peabody Awards, as well as France's Légion d'Honneur and the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award."

The spokesman added: "She won Oscars for both Best Actress (Funny Girl) and Best Original Song (for her composition of Evergreen, which has since become a standard). The three films she directed received a total of 14 Oscar nominations and 13 Golden Globe nominations. Streisand is also one of the best-selling recording artists of all time, having sold more than 68.5 million albums in the US and a total of 150 million albums and singles worldwide. Her recordings have earned her ten Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and the Grammy Legend Award.

"It’s no wonder then that a show would be created to celebrate the work of such an icon. Join star of the show Winter as she combines her superb pitch and quality vocals into her delivery of some of the most beautifully crafted songs ever written or performed, including Send In The Clowns, Don’t Rain on my Parade, Woman In Love and Evergreen."

The date for the diary is Friday, May 24.
