LUCKY Kidderminster residents are set to get their slice of a £3million jackpot after their area was selected as a lottery winner.

People’s Postcode Lottery announced those living in the DY10 1 sector will get a slice of the prize on Saturday, September 29.

Lottery ambassadors Judie McCourt and Danyl Johnson will be in the area handing out cheques to some of the winners on the day.

Residents will find out exactly how much they’ve won on the day with those who play with a ticket landing the biggest share of £1.5million between them. Players’ prizes will vary depending on how many tickets they play with.

Everybody else in the postcode sector will split the other half of the prize pot.

Judie said: “Congratulations Kidderminster! I can’t wait to hand out some big cheques and meet some lovely winners. Good luck to everyone in DY10 1.”

Around 32 per cent of each ticket sales goes to charity and the competition has raised more than £340million for more than 4,000 charities to date.

A number of local projects have received support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery, including Open Trail, which received £1,000 this year to provide summer coaching sessions in mountain biking, to encourage people to get fit, healthy and enjoy the outdoors.
