A MAN from Stourport has been fined after he was found with six wraps of crack cocaine.

Tom Harris, of New Street, pleaded guilty to possessing a class A drug when he appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday (June 13).

The 32-year-old was found with six small wraps of cocaine in Kidderminster on June 12 this year.

He was fined £45 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £30 plus £185 to the Crown Prosecution Service. The drugs were ordered to be destroyed.

Harris was fined another £45 for entering Marks & Spencer in Lower Mill Street, Kidderminster, which he is prohibited from doing by a criminal behaviour order.

Also at Kidderminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, a 20-year-old woman was sentenced to 52 weeks in a young offender institution for nine counts of theft from shops in Kidderminster, Droitwich and Malvern.

Cody Lee Smith, aged 20, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to all nine counts, which included the theft of alcohol on two occasions from Tesco in Castle Road, Kidderminster.

She also admitted six counts of anti-social behaviour in breach of a criminal behaviour order.

Magistrates said the offences were made more serious by Smith's history of offending and persistently breaching court orders.

She had entered retail shops with Ben Wood, which was in itself a breach of the criminal behaviour order.

Smith was sentenced to 52 weeks in a young offender institution and must also pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Wood also appeared before magistrates on Thursday, where he was sentenced to prison for 26 weeks.

The 27-year-old, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to six counts of theft, including two in Kidderminster on the same dates as Cody Lee Smith.

Magistrates said he had a history of offending and jailed him for 26 weeks. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.
