WYRE Forest green-fingers are invited to pick up some new additions for their garden at a returning summer fair in Wolverley.

Bodenham Arboretum will host the Plant Hunters' Fair for gardening lovers on Saturday, August 31, running from 10am to 4pm.

The fair features a range of stalls from specialist nurseries across the country.

The event will welcome back world-renowned alpine and woodland specialist Edrom Nursery from Berwickshire, as well as Royal Horticultural Society gold medallists Packhorse Farm Nursery from Derbyshire, Hall Farm Nursery, and well-known plantsman Bob Brown’s Cotswold Garden Flowers. Also attending for the first time from Staffordshire is Artisan Plant Supports with hand-crafted iron garden plant supports.

The lakeside restaurant at the arboretum will be open serving hot and cold drinks, lunches and snacks using produce from the arboretum’s own farm.

Martin Blow, of Plant Hunters' Fairs, said: "If your garden is looking a little tired after the summer, then this is a great opportunity to find some late blooming plants to cheer it up.

"It is also the perfect time to plant, ready for next year’s bloom. The nursery folk will be more than happy to give you the benefit of their experience in planting and caring for the plants you buy so you can get the best from them. "

Entry and parking at the event is free.
