BEWDLEY is set to turn Americana this weekend for a celebration of US music history and culture.

The American Epic Weekend will take place from Friday, October 4 to Saturday, October 5, featuring film screenings at St Georges Hall, live music, and street performers.

The two days centre around three film screenings exploring the early days of recording music in America, to modern day production.

The American Epic Sessions film screening on the Friday will feature a Q & A session with producer and screenwriter Allison McGourty.

On the Saturday, Load Street will become a Main Street USA, featuring the sounds of the Bewdley Marching band as it leads a parade of American Classic cars.

Leading Nashville-based singer songwriter Rod Picott will close the celebrations when he plays live at the Music in the Hall session on Saturday, October 5.
