A 'FUTURE-PROOF' house which allows homeowners to control their devices with an app on their phone has opened in Kidderminster - the first of its kind in the region.

Bovis Homes' 'Connected Home' opened to the public for viewings in the Silver Acres development off Silverwoods Way on Saturday.

The futuristic smart home is kitted out with devices which allow the property owner to control sound and security from outside.

Devices inside the property can be controlled by a smart home app on a phone or tablet.

Louise Macrae, regional marketing manager at Bovis Homes, said: “From controlling the TV and sound systems and even protecting the property by monitoring any movement in the house – the opportunities are endless."

House buyers can choose from a range of packages and "future-proof" their property with an innovative set-up which tidies wires out of sight.

Other smart home developments are situated in Wellington, Hazelmere in Haslington and Roman Heights in Lichfield, but Silver Acres is the first location in the region to offer the new packages as part of Bovis Homes’ Select range.
