CHRISTMAS services at a Worcestershire church have been moved following a fire which left the lights out and heating off.
St Bartholomew’s Church in Bayton near Cleobury Mortimer suffered damage after a small electrical fire.
Both the Christmas Family Service on Christmas Eve at 6 p.m. and the All Together Holy Communion service on Sunday 29th December at 10 a.m will now take place at St John the Baptist Church in Mamble (Postcode DY14 9JY).
The Revd Sallie Butcher said: “Sadly, until we can get the lighting and heating fixed, the church is dangerous to use so we have reluctantly had to move the two services that were due to take place there over the next few days.
"We are hopeful that the repairs can be completed and the electricity restored so that Bayton Church can be open again around mid-January.”
