ENERGY experts Act On Energy will be on hand to offer free and impartial advice on all matters energy related at a free energy advice surgery in Kidderminster.

The event will take place at the Kidderminster Hub, Kidderminster Town Hall on Thursday October 7 from 10am to 1pm.

Advisors will be able to help with information on making your home more energy efficient, offering impartial advice on your gas and electricity bills, advice on heating systems, and information about grants for insulation and boilers and renewable energy technologies.

Conservative Marcus Hart, Wyre Forest District Council cabinet member for housing and environmental services, said: “In a typical British home, one third of the heat produced by central heating systems is lost through the roof, walls and windows.

“This means that, in a poorly insulated home, £1 out of every £3 spent is wasted. These free advice sessions offer people the chance to find out about ways to cut their energy bills, such as through grants and subsidised insulation available to all and by making sure they are on the best tariff.”

Further energy advice surgeries will be held on November 4 and December 2 and in 2011, on January 6, February 3, March 3, April 7, May 5 and June 2.

Residents wishing to attend an energy advice surgery can either drop in on the day or book with Act on Energy on 0800 988 2881.
