SORRY to return to the Church Street crossing but two letters on the 2/11/06 need replying to.

The other half suggests that a few pensioners being knocked over is a small price to pay to keep the motorists happy. He also seems to suggest that I want Church Street closed. When I wrote shut this crossing I should have underlined the word this because of course the area of the ring road close to the bus station needs a surface crossing. I am just objecting to the siting.

On the same page a local doctor told us he is getting tired of people away from the ring road area commenting on it. The only reason the crossing exists is because bus passengers were fed up with using a dirty, smelly subway to get into town. This problem has been temporally solved with the improved subway, but how long before it returns to a foul smelling public urinal. This will give the bus passengers the choice of being sick or risking injury at the crossing. As someone who uses the bus station every day to shop in Stourbridge surely I have as much right to express my opinion as a local doctor who like the people who makes these decisions has probably never been on a bus since his student days.
