We are repeatedly told by the Prime Minister other leaders & MPs of the legacy parties that our presence at the EU top table buys us influence we wouldn’t have if we left, yet whilst making an appearance on radio 4’s Westminster hour this week during a discussion on the transatlantic trade & investment partnership (TTIP) Stourbridge MP Margot James exclaimed “Well, It’s a EU agreement, and although we have a voice, It’s only one voice”.
Indeed one voice out of twenty eight!
On November 1 qualified majority voting was introduced in the European council, the UK lost its veto. Influence what influence? For forty years this country has been managed by a bunch of confidence tricksters and charlatans who it can be said of have most definitely sold us a pig in a poke. the upcoming general election presents an opportunity for change in Stourbridge and the country as a whole, our children and grand children/s future depends on us getting it right.
