THE removal of posters from the Library foyer seems to me to be a decision taken with out any consultation and doesn't appear to be in the best interests of council tax payers, and highlights just how out of touch library chiefs are with overall public opinion.
These posters provide an easy access point to a wealth of local information and local events, consequently they must be viewed by a vast array of people every week, any plans for the removal of these notices to a more inaccessible part of the library would surely be a backward step.
As there has been such an outcry over this matter, perhaps what library chiefs should now be doing is looking for a compromise, yes by all means put posters in folders for the visually impaired and wheelchair users elsewhere, if that would be helpful to them, but at the same time they should think again about removing posters from library foyers.
