A POLICE officer was taken to hospital after a dramatic chase which ended in a Stourbridge cul-de-sac.
Emergency services swamped the scene at around 1.30pm on Friday May 17 in Field Lane, Oldswinford, where residents reported seeing police chasing a red car.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said a car hit a fence after failing to stop for officers and the occupants of a Seat Leon fled, prompting a foot-chase which ended with the arrest of a 22-year-old man on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.
A police officer was treated at the scene by West Midlands Ambulance Service and taken to Russells Hall Hospital following the incident and a police spokesman confirmed: "An officer suffered a minor injury after falling."
An eye-witness said it was lucky no-one was seriously hurt during the drama, which unfolded outside Oldswinford Primary School, and she said on social media site Next Door: "This could have been a very different story."
The man arrested at the scene has been bailed pending further enquiries.
