A LITTLE girl obsessed with Asda was given a treat to remember by kind-hearted supermarket staff who invited her into the Brierley Hill store for a VIP visit.
Sophie Birkin, aged four, has cerebral palsy and other health conditions including hydrocephalus, and has been self-isolating for five months - so had been unable to visit her beloved supermarket.
Her mum Sarah Foley, said: "She is obsessed with Asda and has her own supermarket play set.
"During lockdown she was very upset at not being able to go to Asda as she was in total isolation from March to August.
"So I contacted the store and asked if they could help by making her a name badge to wear."
But big-hearted staff at the store in Pearson Street, Brierley Hill, did more than make her a name badge - they invited their biggest fan into the supermarket on Sunday morning (September 13) before it opened to the public for a special VIP visit.
Her delighted mum said: "She had the best morning and the lovely staff even put together a box full of goodies.
"I'm very grateful to the store for taking time to make my princess feel special."
September is hydrocephalus awareness month and Sophie's mum said she wanted to help make people more aware of the condition (where fluid builds up within the brain).
