A DOUBLE gold medal winning Paralympian inspired primary school pupils during her recent visit to Kingswinford.
Archery superstar Danielle Brown, who won the women's individual compound events at both the Beijing and London Paralympics, gave a motivating talk to students at Crestwood Park Primary School during her visit to the Lapwood Avenue school.
Danielle, who suffers from reflex sympathetic dystrophy, told an inspiring story of how she did not let her disability stop her from achieving her Paralympic dreams.
Throughout the special assembly, children listened to her tips and advice for pushing yourself to achieve goals, while the youngsters also took part in a lively exercise circuit.
Amy Cooper, Crestwood Park Primary School’s deputy headteacher said: “It was a fantastic day for all involved and certainly inspired many of the pupils to aim for gold.”
The visit was organised by Sports for Schools, an organisation which for the past eight years has sent Olympic and Paralympic athletes into schools inspire children to participate sport, raise money for PE equipment, as well as support British athletes financially.
During the next two weeks, Danielle will visit Netherton CE Primary School, Peter’s Hill Primary School and Gig Mill Primary School.
