FOUR Stourbridge students will be competing in Dudley’s fifth annual E-safety Debate tomorrow (Wednesday February 8).
Year nine students Ben Watkins, Zac Carradine, Max Worrall and Nihal Ahmed, from Old Swinford Hospital School, will be debating in favour of the motion “everything we see on the worldwide web is plausible and credible” at the event, which is being held to mark Safer Internet Day 2017.
The team will be competing against year 11 pupils from Summerhill School who will debate against the motion at the event - organised by Dudley Grid for Learning and Dudley’s community safety partnership, safe & sound.
Students from both schools will be in the audience in the Council Chamber at Dudley Council House and will vote for the most persuasive team after all cases have been heard.
Headmaster Paul Kilbride said: “Our students are looking forward to speaking in the Council Chamber where elected councillors debate important national and local issues.”
He said the school aimed to use Safer Internet Day this year to “highlight the positive uses of technology and how we all can create a better and safer online community”.
