STUDENTS from a Stourbridge school have rocketed through to the regional final of the coveted British Schools Karting Championship (BSKC).

A trio of pupils from Redhill School, Noah Vanden Branden, Will Cregeen and Jack Hill, beat teams from across the West Midlands to finish runners-up in an event at Teamsport in Birmingham.

For finishing in the top three, the team have made it into the BSKC Midlands Regional Final, taking place at Daytona Milton Keynes on Wednesday April 26.

Len Oakes, assistant headteacher, said: “Well done to the lads and congratulations to Mrs Cregeen for organising the event on behalf of the school.”

The BSKC is a nationwide team-based karting championship open to any school or college with students aged 13 to 18.

Schools can enter multiple teams of three and students do not need any previous karting experience or any special equipment to participate in the competition.

Adrienne Watson, championship manager at BSKC, said: “Congratulations to the drivers from Redhill School on their success.

“They showed great skill to secure their place in the Midlands Regional Final.”
