STUDENTS from a Hagley school have collaborated with Clent’s Sunfield special school on a joint creative project.

Sixth formers from Haybridge High School, as well as the students at Sunfield, have created hand-crafted yellow themed mobiles as part of the special school’s Sunshine Week campaign.

The artwork will hand from a large oak tree which is situated at the front of Sunfield’s main building.

The idea was to create a temporary eye-catching display to raise awareness for the charity school which supports children and young people, aged between six and 19, who have complex learning and behavioural needs, such as autism.

Georgina Forrest, Sunfield’s partnership development manager, said: “It was great to see our students and the sixth formers interacting with one another, sharing and showcasing their art work and decorating the tree together.”

As part of the campaign, local offices, day nurseries and groups also have been holding yellow themed cake sales and dress down days, with more than £1,200 being raised so far for the school.
