DAVE King says it's vital his Tividale players to hit the ground running when they finally return to league action.

Dale were again left frustrated by the weather when last Saturday's home clash with Hereford Lads Club fell victim to a waterlogged pitch.

It means they haven't played since beating Dudley Town on December 23.

The manager has underlined how important it will be for his team to quickly recapture the momentum that had seen them go top of the West Midlands Premier League table before Christmas.

They are due to face Paget Rangers away in the JW Hunt Cup on Tuesday night before going to third-from-bottom Pegasus Juniors this Saturday.

King said: "It was very frustrating again for us but we just couldn't get the game on.

"We have now trained the last two Saturdays but nothing beats playing.

"It almost feels like we're starting again to some extent. It will be important that we come out of the blocks quickly when we do finally play.

"It will be a tough game at Pegasus so we must hit the ground running."

Joe Lawley and Elliot Hartley will both miss Saturday but Liam Smith and Tom Hurdman should be available.
