How they rated:

Stourbridge 1, Shaw Lane 1

Beasley: The young loanee from Wolves made a string of good saves and can be pleased with his debut. One shaky moment when he fumbled a corner but recovered well to save another effort soon after. 7.

Christophorou: Another hard-working showing from the full back. Defended well, read the game well and was quick to snap into the challenges. 7.

Westlake: Another who read the game well and worked hard on the opposite flank. Neat on the ball in difficult conditions and helped start attacking moves from deep. 7.

McCone: Really good performance from the skipper. Had a battle on his hands with Chilaka but stood up to the task well. 7.5.

Pierpoint: He also had a solid afternoon at the back, won his headers really well and found some good balls into midfield. 7.

Tonks: All-action showing from the midfielder, especially in the second half. Won the ball well in midfield but also got his team going forwards on a host of occasions. Nearly bagged a winner late on too. 7.5.

Shearer: A mixed afternoon from his position out wide. Caused Shaw Lane lots of problems with his pace in the first half but drifted out of the clash before being replaced by Chris Lait. 6.5.

Broadhurst: Drove his team forward in the second half. Won the ball back in midfield and also created. Had a big chance saved at the start of the second half but, like his team-mates, he gave everything. 7.5.

Benbow: Levelled the game for the Glassboys when his cross somehow evaded the keeper and did well to hold the ball up throughout. Linked play well, worked a few openings for himself with neat footwork on the edge of the box and was a handful all afternoon. 7.5.

Anderson: Always a threat with his pace but his final ball could have been better. Seemed to be slightly more central in the second half and that suited. 7.

Gater: A neat display from the attacker. Hardly wasted the ball and helped get his side on the front foot. Fired narrowly wide late on. 7.

Subs:

Lait: Decent cameo from the returning winger. Quickly got involved and saw a late drilled effort saved. Still looking for match sharpness so should be plenty more to come. 7.

Cooke: Late change as Stour looked for a winner. N/A.

Unused subs: Hall, Antonio, Hawk.
